Skyline Drive
Located in Canon City, you get to Skyline Drive off US 50 as you take that highway west out of town. It’s a one-lane, one-way road so don’t try going the other way. What it does is go up and cruise along the hogback overlooking the town. And it is spectacular. You could probably ride the thing in less than five minutes but trust me, you won’t. And there are plenty of spots to pull off and park. Here are some shots to give you a taste of it. This first one is looking back the way we came, with US 50 down below. Unlike most of the roads spotlighted on this website, Skyline Drive is not a long stretch. In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s not even one mile. But it is
quite an impressive portion of a mile.
